KDRDIP Implementation Principles

  1. Alignment with devolved systems of governance at county, sub-county, and ward levels.
  2. Building on ongoing initiatives especially the Accountable Devolution Program and Regional Pastoralist Livelihoods Resilience Project
  3. Promoting coordination with the World Bank and other partners;
  4. Ensuring swift funds flow and timely reporting.

We engage with communities where they are. Members of the community converge at a village assembly to discuss their development needs. They prioritize the projects they want, form village communities to implement them, KDRDIP capacity builds the committees and gives the communities funds to implement the projects. Procurement and implementation of the community projects is supervised by the communities themselves. The communities have their own Grievance Redress Communities (GRC) to manage complaints or conflicts whenever they emerge in the course of the project implementation process. In this photograph, KDRDIP was engaging with the community in Turkana West Sub-county.
